The objectives of this book are to help students develop their communicative skills in english as well as various job-related competencies. The book was designed based on teh global simulation framework in which students take on a role in a simulated center for disease control. Each unit covers different aspects of working in te simulated center, including how to apply for a job, applying for a job in the center, designing medical campaigns about communicative diseases, non- communicative diseases and violence, and preparing for language proficiency exams. It is designed for use with B1 english language students from the Health Sciences division at the Universidad del Norte.

Has a College Degree in Foreign Languages from the Universidad del Atlántico and a Master's Degree in Teaching English from the Universidad del Norte. She is currently a teacher in a public school and a professor at the Universidad del Norte.
Jorge Linero
Has a College Degree in Foreign Languages from the Universidad del Atlántico. Master's Degree in Teaching English at the Universidad del Norte. He is currently a full-time professor in the area of English at the Universidad del Norte.
Indira Niebles
Has a College Degree in Foreign Languages from the Universidad del Atlántico and a Master's in Applied Linguistics from the University of Queensland (Australia). Currently she is a full-time professor and researcher at the Department of Languages at the Universidad del Norte. Since 2018, she has been teaching, mainly, for the English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Programs such as: English for International Business, English for Business Administration and English for Nursing Purposes.
Yuddy Pérez
Teacher at the Language Institute of the Universidad del Norte. She has a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Teaching English, a specialist in Teaching English, and a Degree in Philology and Languages from the same university. She has been coordinator of the specialization in Teaching English at the Universidad del Norte.
Paige Poole
Pregrado en Estudios Internacionales y Español de la Universidad de Alabama (EE.UU.). Magíster en TESOL Studies de la Universidad de Leeds (Inglaterra). Docente y coordinadora de los programas de Inglés con énfasis en cultura del Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras del Instituto de Idiomas, Universidad del Norte (Colombia).
