It was a Thursday afternoon, Stormie was out in her Greenhouse pruning and watering her plants when she heard the phone rang. It was her good friend Quan calling just to chit-chat. She had gone shopping and wanted to share some of the sale bargains she had acquired earlier that day.
“Yes girl, I just happen to be browsing in JCPenney and they had a fantastic sale! I found a good sale on a Ninja Single Coffee Maker! It was at regular price for $150 then it was maked down to $79, amazingly it was marked down again so guess how much I got it for?”
“What $50!” Stormie guessed.
“No! For $30!”
“You're kidding!”
“Girl no! I asked the sales agent to make sure that it was wasn't missed priced and it wasn't, so I had to have it! Luckily, there was only two left and I've got one of them. Now that was a good buy! You know Tony doesn't drink coffee, when he gets up in morning he loves his smoothies and his energy drinks so it was just perfect for me! And I found the cutest little Graco ballerina bounce, walker and swing set for Chrystal's baby shower on sale for $49!”
“Oh that's nice! For some reason I trust Graco products, they are just made better and more substantial than Fisher-Price baby items. Desiree thinks that Fisher-Price has so much more for babies than Graco but I believe if it's made by Graco it's very good! We've done so much baby shopping for our little cousin Tory simply because he was the only baby in the family with his little bad self. He's is now 5-years-old and still spoiled. Anyway I've got to get busy, I haven't gotten Crystal's baby a gift yet and I haven't checked her baby register.”
“Well what are you waiting for! The shower is Saturday! You need to get over to JCPenney, they have plenty of nice things to choose from! You should call Desiree, I'm sure she'd love that, especially while sales last! Speaking of which, how is she by the way? I haven't seen her since that night at the theater about two months ago! She was on a date with some good looking guy.”
“Oh she's fine, in fact, I need to give her a call to find out what happen, she was supposed to come by a couple of days ago after her workout class, she said she had some good news to share. I'm sure it's about some guy but who knows, Desiree lives a very gregarious lifestyle and to be extroverted is her thing.”
“Well, it's befitting! She's got it going on! People love her radio show! And she is so pretty, honey she can land one at a drop of a hat! She's so deserving of a good man. I hope it's good news!”
“Girl, Desiree is looking for perfection, she's dated nearly thirty guys already and none of them seem to measure up to her expectations. I told her there is no such thing but she'll find out.” She chuckled.
“Yea, you are so right! None of them are perfect, either they have nice incomes with good careers but they are insecure and demanding or they have baby mama drama. And if you're financially stable like she is then some men are looking to just cohabitate! But I don't blame her for being selective these days you never know what you're getting, some of these men go either way! But time is steady moving and she'll have to land one soon, while she still has that cute little figure. So about what age is she now twenty-eight or twenty-nine?”
“She's twenty-nine. She just had a birthday a couple of months ago. She said she's going to wait until she's thirty and if she hasn't met anyone by then she'll settle for the next best eligible. Mom says she gonna end up being an old maid because she's so damn picky!” They both laughed.
“Oh she'll be fine, she's just having fun! And we both know there is nothing wrong with that! We've been there! You remember our college days!” They agreed.
“Girl yes! We would love em then leave em!” They laughed.
“So what have you been into today?”
“Girl, I'm out in the greenhouse pruning. I can't believe how beautiful my plants are! You should see my Ficus and Philodendrons, they are trees now! Must be that new potting soil!”
“Potting soil or not, you've just got that green-thumb girl and I know they are beautiful! I can't wait to see them! I've got several that needs repotting, they just look so lifeless! Maybe I'll just bring them over to you so you can give them life with that green thumb of yours.” They chuckled.
“Not a problem! Just bring them over, they probably just need to be moved to a bigger pot with some of this wonderful potting soil and a good watering.”
“Hunny, I sure will bring them over so you can handle that!” They chuckled.
“So how is Miles?” Quan asked.
